Liles Massage Center

Therapeutic Philosophy

When our body moves properly, it activates physiological processes that keep us healthy. Connective tissue, muscles, and nerves play a vital role in allowing us pain-free movement. All of these aspects are present in healthy muscle, and healthy muscle is the focus of the Liles Massage Center. When working with you, three major components will be evaluated. These components are:

Pain

Do you currently suffer from pain? The intensity of the pain doesn’t matter. Pain will alter your natural body movement, and will cause you to change the way you move. This change in your movement may seem insignificant at first, but it can have dramatic effects on your entire body. I grew up with the saying “Walk it off. It will be fine in a few days.” Well that sounds good, but muscle pain isn’t a cold. It doesn’t behave the same way, and by the time you don’t feel it anymore a lasting issue could be a result. Pain, regardless if it is intermittent or constant, will still nag you. That nagging pain starts to take over even if you think you are ignoring it. Pain will always affect your movement.

Movement

Body movement is huge factor in health. Spending 40 hours at a desk for 20 years will have devastating effects on your neck, back and shoulders, but so will any manual labor job that lasts for the same amount of time. What about sports or recreational injuries? Did you “walk off” a twisted or sprained ankle maybe? If you did, it may not hurt you, but how is that lower back feeling? Has it gotten stiff and achy over time? Did you know that bad feet and back pain are related? These types of issues start out small, but they age you quickly. Things like this make you feel old before your time. These issues also affect your body structure, and if your body isn’t properly aligned, a whole host of issues can develop.

Structural Alignment

Structural alignment is how your body lines up with itself. If bones are not aligned correctly, pain can result. Muscle tension can create a situation where the bones shift out of place, or correct movement is restricted from happening. If the bone is pulled, even a little, in the wrong direction it won’t move correctly. However, these types of issues are common, and correcting them is one of the primary focuses of the Liles Massage Center.

I use the information I collect about your situation to create a comprehensive plan that restore a proper balance between muscles, nerves, and connective tissue. Then, I take the time to craft a specific therapy plan to help you achieve your desired goal. If you are having difficulties getting around or doing every day life, call me, and we can talk about the solutions I offer. No obligations, no pressure. It is just a conversation.

To your health,
